When looking for home design inspiration, let's face it. No one immediately thinks of Detroit. Until now. At least we do!
Happy was the day we stumbled upon Design Hole - a site written by Jennifer Mitchell, a Detroit native and interior designer whose off-beat regular feature "Chair of the Day" opened our eyes to the frivolous fun of Edward Van Vliet’s Sushi Collection for Moroso.

These vibrant little donuts could wake up the dullest living room.
In addition to the fun finds, what we love most about Design Hole is its 'work in progress' approach and wry humor applied to home design. Jennifer presents a photo gallery on how 'not to decorate for the holidays' and follows up with no-nonsense tips on how to get it right. We're also hooked on her regular updates as she administers the Apartment Therapy Kitchen Cure to her own kitchen makeover.
And don't forget to check out the Design Hole photo tour of spooky 'haunted' Gross Pointe. These photos had us charmed right through to our neon skeletons.
