Whether you want to visit an antique-lover’s paradise or a modern treasure trove, you can sit back on a lovely pillow and do it all online. Here are some of my favorite go-to design sites for an original mix of furniture, art and decorative accessories to make my clients’ homes “all about them.”

American Chic

C.S. Post & Company (cspost.com) is an innovative store in Kansas featuring clean, American style and carefully designed tables, rugs, seating, lighting and accessories. Its wonderful website offers the company’s chic home furnishings at affordable prices. There are a number of pieces in iron finishes and designs that make entertaining a pleasure.

Mixed Period Accessories

Whether you need a one-of-a-kind antique or a classic design, Mecox Gardens (mecoxgardens.com) offers a fascinating mix of old and new styles and periods. The company has a number of retail stores in addition to a website. Its mirrors and accessories are original and provide that extra “pop” for an entry or dining room. Some of the textured and beautifully finished bookcases and tables can make any space more interesting and eclectic.

1800–21st Century

Bond & Bowery (bondandbowery.com) is a unique website featuring modern and vintage furniture, art, lighting and decorative accessories of all styles, from 1800 through the 21st century. The sellers include antiques dealers from New York, Los Angeles, Toronto and London. The merchandise is screened by industry experts and professionals; the prices are consistent with antiques from those periods. It’s an ideal site for discerning buyers who are passionate about style and originality.
