A Sea Change: The Nautical Bedroom
Thursday, March 25, 2010

Here's your profile: You love the ocean. Moby Dick is one of your favorite books. You subscribe to magazines like Yachting World and Sail, even though the nearest body of water is a nearby pond your kids ice skate on in winter. Your idea of the perfect vacation involves sailing, naturally, and you already own the striped shirt and boat shoes you'll need when that vacation, someday, comes to pass.

Or, you just really like navy blue stripes.

Either way, we're thinking that a nautical-themed bedroom might appeal to you. With the right combination of fabrics and accessories, your bedroom can all but float. You can start referring to the closets as being "starboard" and "port," and spend your nights dreaming of faraway seas. Or, you can just enjoy your navy blue stripes.

Here's how some other folks do it.
