Before and After: Getting Naked to Get Beautiful
Posted by Paris Lia
Friday, July 3, 2009

No, I'm not teasing you. This article is about nakedness. But it's about stripping down a house...so that she transforms into a newly painted showpiece.

The picture above shows one of hundreds of blisters that can mar the "before" exterior of a home.

When you have a situation like that, your home is in serious need of an exterior makeover.

A few things to consider about blistering before setting out on your repainting project:

1) Blistering can occur from painting in direct sunlight (here solvent vapors can trap as paint dries too quickly).

2) Avoid painting on damp wood.

3) The effects of dew, rain and high humidity can also cause blistering.

4) Be sure to check that no moisture from the interior is seeping through the walls.
