Beegirl, from Pittsburgh, PA, runs Burbs and the Bees: Adventures of Suburban Homesteading and Novice Beekeeping. It's a blog about “Trying to jam as much farm life as I can into our little piece of suburban woodland!” and chronicling the day-to-day life of a bee farmer in the most delightful -- and informative -- way. One recent post – Operation Salad Bar – has her in a midnight staredown with the deer eating her veggies. Most posts, however, have to do with bees. And honey. And the collection of honey and the maintenance of bees. And quite honestly, it’s fascinating. In a quiet, Zen-like kind of way. We greatly admire anyone who dives deeply into their passion, and when that passion centers around where they live, even better.
