It's not a great time for the housing industry but it's always a great time for gingerbread. In a clever spin on a treasured holiday tradition, modern home plans company Hometta has unveiled an irresistible set of gingerbread house plans! Free, downloadable plans (http://www.hometta.com/GingerbreadDraftHouse.pdf) are now available from award-winning architects HouMinn Practice.

If you're feeling like a modern Martha Stewart, grab yourself some scissors, molasses, and gumdrops and get building. Plans are available through the end of the year so time to summon those specialized baking architect skills you know you've got. And if visions of real houses are dancing in your head, don't forget to check out Hometta's stellar collection of houseplans by such terrific architects as MinDay, Studio Terpeluk, and KRDB.

[Special note: Check out the amazing gingerbread houses designed by some of Vancouver, BC's top architects and designers. They're being auctioned off to support Architecture for Humanity.]
