Inspiration Everywhere: Black, White and Read All Over
Monday, November 2, 2009

While flipping through two of the country’s most cosmopolitan newspapers (and by flipping we mean browsing, online) we headed straight to the home/lifestyle sections to see what the good people of LA and New York are doing, these days, to spruce up their abodes.

This week, our two favorite stories ended with very different design achievements, but share a common (and right-up-our-alley) observation of the modest budget.

It’s good to be reminded that substantial changes can be made to a home without breaking the bank.

From the Los Angeles Times: A colorful, sustainable and budget-conscious garden in Laguna Niguel.

The Deal: A stylish family sets up an enviable outdoor living space, complete with fireplace and view.

From the New York Times: An Ode to '70s-Style Living

The Deal: Groovy New York designer turns a 600 square foot apartment into a fully-designed oasis of chic, on just $5,000.
