This week work and real life have intersected, once again. My husband just repainted our exterior trim and all of the exterior doors. It was a long time coming, I’ll tell you. Our house was built in 1928, and from the looks of it, the paint job was done in 1929.
Because our palette is generally earthy (white house, dark brown trim, tree-filled surrounds) we decided to introduce a splash of color by way of the doors. We painted them red. The decision was made purely because we thought it would look cool, though I later discovered that red doors are quite auspicious, or so the Feng Shui experts will tell you. Not a bad perk.
I have yet to take a photo of my own door, but here are some pretty fantastic – and colorful – doors that got us inspired.
