If we had a couple million bucks and happened to live in the greater Chicago area, we’d snap this house up faster than you can say "Cameron Frye." That’s Cameron Frye, sidekick of Ferris Bueller, whose parents’ owned this house in the John Hughes film Ferris Bueller's Day Off. (Remember the famous odometer-reversing scene, when the car flies off the cliff? That’s the one!)
The house – known as the Ben Rose Home – is a notable mid-century architectural gem made of steel and glass, cantilevered over a ravine in a peaceful wooded setting. We can picture ourselves gazing through the walls of glass, watching scurrying squirrels in the summer, and curling up with a good book watching snow fall in January. And yes, we can also see a young Matthew Broderick on the couch, smug-faced and reclining with his feet on the coffee table, as if it were still 1986. Listing price, $2.3MM on Realtor.com.
