Recipe for Bringing the Winter Games Home
Friday, February 19, 2010

Admit it. You’ve gotten a bit obsessed with the Winter Olympics. Lindsey Vonn has achieved hero status in your moderate slope-skiing eyes, and Shaun White’s gravity-defying snowboarding has made your jaw – along with the rest of ours – drop.

Depending on how obsessed you are, and what climate you live in, you might be tempted to take your love of slaloms, powder, and ski lodges and turn it into home décor.

We call it “ski lodge chic,” and once you pick a room to transform, it can be achieved in just a few simple steps.

Just take…

2 or 3 Vintage Ski Posters from thegremlin.com

1 Set of Fake Antlers from velocityartanddesign.com

Carved moose head

1 Pair Wall-Hanging Snow Shoes (you can find some, not identical to this, at BlackForest Home Decor)

1 or 2 Leather Couches from UrbanBarn.com, and

leather sofa from Urban Barn

1 Cowhide Rug from Cowhidesinternational.com

Cowhide Rug

Toss in…

1 Mug of Hot Chocolate

And that should do the trick.
