Department of the Interior is self-desribed as “Stylish living. Interior design. Art. Photograpy. Jewelry. Life in the District… prettified.” The District, of course, is Washington, D.C., and this blog is most definitely pretty.
Its creator, Jenn, a D.C.-based PR professional, has a simple theory: “Fine living means creating a home filled with only what you need or love – everything else is clutter.”
Her blog beautifully curates a signature style. One that appreciates dusty classic books (because of their texture), mis-matched antiques (because anyone can buy a matching set from Pottery Barn), clackity old typewriters and feminine vintage jewelry.
She’s created a site that feels utterly modern and stylish while dipping regularly into the past for inspiration. And somehow, to a person who lives elsewhere, it feels very D.C. as well.
We. Love. It.
