The name sort of says it all.
NormalRoom.com is a Finland-based website dedicated not to the ultra hip, hyper modern or vintage elite of modern high-gloss magazines, but to, well, normal peoples' rooms. Normal rooms, from all over the world.
Ever wonder what a bathroom in Kazakhstan might look like? Or a kitchen in Russia? This is where you’ll find out.
As the founders describe it, the site is a “home for global homes… [it] shows you interior design and home furniture from all around the globe.” At first glance you might think, “Hey, that’s a living room. A pretty average-looking living room.” But then you quickly realize that living room is in Latvia (which is pretty interesting, as you've never been to Latvia), and that the next room is from Spain, and the next from Japan.
All the images -- which are numerous -- are uploaded by users, who together form this wonderful community of international homebodies who want to see how other’s live, and share how they live themselves.
We dare you to not click at least 10 times. Go ahead, try it.
Or, here’s a sneak preview. Three “normal rooms”:
A living room in Brazil.
A bathroom in Kazakhstan
A kitchen in Russia.
