Let’s talk about toilet paper. No, seriously.
Because we are curious if you, Growers and Nomads reader, are of the “display your extra rolls” school of thought, or more likely to “hide that unthinkable white stuff away.”
We somehow got this on our minds and decided to read up on the subject.
Turns out the “display 'em” camp is quite large, with the motivating factor being consideration of guests. Like, you have guests over, the roll runs out, and you don’t want your friend to have to dig through your cupboards or drawers in search of a spare. Or worse yet, not find a spare at all because you keep them in the hall closet.
Awkward.
The “hide ‘em” folks maintain that toilet paper is not home décor, and that a good host or hostess would simply make sure there’s a full roll on its holder before guests arrive, and keep a close eye on it from that point forward.
We’re leaning toward “display” for many reasons, not the least of which is that we don’t want to have to think of toilet paper at all while we are entertaining. Plus, there are many creative – even attractive – ways to keep the extra rolls out and within arm’s reach of whomever might be needing one.
