The video below was discovered on YouTube and watched with the kind of awe and excitement that home-enthusiasts like us think is perfectly normal, but to the average person is probably a bit bewildering.
But awe, in this instance, is worthy on many levels. Jay Shafer takes us on a tour of his 100 square foot home, and the tour lasts a full, detail-packed 3 minutes. That might not sound very long, but think about 100 square feet for a second -- that’s 10”x10”, the size of many people’s closets, smaller than most children’s rooms, or even many bathrooms.
How long would it take you to show someone around your closet?
Despite it’s status as tiny – no, teeny-tiny – Jay’s house is a feat in creative storage. What’s so great about watching the secret walls and trap doors emerge as places to neatly stash clothes, computers and even spare furniture, is that it makes us – with homes at least 10, 20 times this big -- scratch our heads and say “hmm, I could be getting a lot more out of my space if I didn’t have all my office supplies strewn across my dining room table.”
For example.
So watch Jay and get inspired (the bathroom’s our favorite!). Fortunately, we know a number to call if you’d like some professional help with your storage solutions (no matter what size your house).
